Holidays in Term Time
Holidays in term time will not be authorised under any circumstances.
If you choose to take your child out of school in term time for a holiday or out of the country for any reason this will not be authorised.
Any child absent from school for 10 days or more will be reported to the local authority as a missing child and they will lose their school place if absent for twenty days.
A Penalty Notice may be issued by the Local Authority.
The Penalty Notice is £60 per parent, per child if paid within 21 days. It will increase to £120 per parent, per child if paid after 21 days but within 28 days.
Failure to pay the Penalty Notice could result in Coventry City Council starting legal proceedings against you for the offence of failing to ensure your child’s regular attendance at school.
