A Statement from our Governors:
Little Heath has a governing body whose role is to work together to provide independent oversight of the management and operation of the school with the aim of improving the quality of education and raising standards.
The governing body does not run the school on a day to day basis. This is the job of the Head Teacher and the other senior staff. Rather the governors have a job to support and challenge the Head Teacher and the staff to make Little Heath the best school it can be. The Governing Body also has a responsibility for 'ensuring a safe culture and environment in which all children can learn'
The governing body currently comprises of:
The Head Teacher
1 Parent Governors
6 Co-opted Governors
1 LA Governor
1 Staff Governor
All enquiries to the school to be directed via the school office at firstname.lastname@example.org
Welcome to our Governors’ section.
Please find below details of how our Governing body is structured, including the names, categories, responsibilities and terms of appointment for each Governor.
Governors play an important role in the life of the school - this is mainly strategic; setting policy, monitoring progress, supporting staff and challenging where necessary. Governors also monitor safeguarding and child protection. This is sometimes deemed as being a 'critical friend' to the Headteacher. It is important to understand that it is the role of the Headteacher and her staff to run the school on a day to day basis. Governors work closely with Mrs Stanley to ensure the success of the school. The full governing body meets twice each term. they meet as a full Governing body. I meeting per term has a resource focussed agenda and the second meeting per term has a performance and standards focus to ensure the efficient and successful running of the school.
Governors are unpaid volunteers who come from a range of backgrounds. They contribute their knowledge, skills and experience for the benefit of the school. If you have any questions about the governing body or wish to discuss and school related issues please contact us through the school and we will gladly contact you in response.
The aims of the Governing Body are:
- To ensure the education, development and wider well being of the children, their families and the staff at Little Heath Primary School.
- To promote the education, development and wider well being of all the children in the area.
- To support the needs of the wider local community.
