Welcome to our Governors’ section.
Please find below details of how our Governing body is structured, including the names, categories, responsibilities and terms of appointment for each Governor.
Governors:
Governors play an important role in the life of the school - this is mainly strategic; setting policy, monitoring progress, supporting staff and challenging where necessary. Governors also monitor safeguarding and child protection. This is sometimes deemed as being a 'critical friend' to the Headteacher. It is important to understand that it is the role of the Headteacher and her staff to run the school on a day to day basis. Governors work closely with Mrs Stanley to ensure the success of the the school. The full governing body meets once a term, and sub-committees, Quality and Standards, and Resource Management meet at least once a term to ensure the efficient and successful running of the school.
Governors are unpaid volunteers who come from a range of backgrounds. They contribute their knowledge, skills and experience for the benefit of the school. If you have any questions about the governing body or wish to discuss and school related issues please contact us through the school and we will gladly contact you in response.
The aims of the Governing Body are:
- To ensure the education, development and wider well being of the children, their families and the staff at Little Heath Primary School.
- To promote the education, development and wider well being of all the children in the area.
- To support the needs of the wider local community.
