Pine's blog

This term Pine Class will need to bring their P.E. kits in for Wednesday. Please can P.E. kits be shorts, tracksuit bottoms or leggings and a suitable t-shirt with trainers or pumps.

Welcome to Pine Class page.



Our topic this half term is Beast Creator and we will be learning all about minibeasts!


This is what we will be learning in each subject:


English - we will be learning to write our own minibeast poems. After that, we will be creating our own exciting adventure stories using A Bug's Life as a stimulus.


Maths - we will be continuing our work on multiplication and division before moving onto fractions and decimals. 


Science - we will be learning about Living Things and their Habitats so will be looking at some different life cycles and finding out more about minibeasts.


Geography - We will be looking at where deadly minibeasts live and how they have adapted to their habitats.


Art - We will be learning to draw detailed sketches of real and imaginary minibeasts before creating a clay model of a fantasy minibeast.


R.E. - We will be considering the question 'What does it mean to be a Muslim in Britain today?'.


P.E. - We will be developing our skills to play different ball games. We will improve our passing, shooting and dribbling skills in games such as football, basketball or netball. 


Computing - We will be improving our skills by using different programmes on the computer to create presentations, posters and factfiles. We will also be learning more about e-safety and how to make sure we are safe online. 


Our SEAL topic this half term is Going for Goals. We will be thinking of targets we can set ourselves and how we can achieve them. 


We will also be learning lot's of new words and phrases in French!
